Election 2009 in my place

Fifth and final phase of 15th Lok Sabha Election 2009 is coming to an end today.

Many parties came to my house and gave a slip which contains my name, my father's name, my voter id number, slno. in the register, place of voting etc.

I took one slip and went to vote (to fulfill my duty, as a citizen of India)around
8.30 am.

In the slip, there was a mention that which room I should contact for voting.

I went to that room, and stood in a queue for 10 minutes.

Election officers verified my details with the voter id I have and asked me to vote in an electronic machine.

In that machine, names, symbol of all candidates contesting in that constituency is available.A button is available for each candidate. To vote for that candidate, we have press the button available for him.

AFter pressing the button, a beep sound is heard and that is the indication that voting is completed.

My queries regarding Election:

1) Why on-line voting is not available ?
2) Why there is no provision in the voting machine for Section 49(0). (Separate post follows for this section)
3) Why it is not made compulsory that each and every Indian should vote.
4) Why it is not made compulsory that each political party should contest alone and face the election. and should be allowed to form group after winning).
5) Only 45-50% of people vote and party who gets majority (272 MPs) (approximately 30-40% voted) will form Government (i.e. party rejected by 60-70% of people). Is it not a strange ?
